Early use of editions not yet declared in force is permitted, unless specifically prohibited by the Administrator.
Although section 6 of the Pressure Equipment Safety Regulation lists specific editions of the codes and standards that it declares in force, the Safety Codes Act in subsection 65(4) provides that when these documents are amended or replaced, the new document automatically comes into force on the first day of the month following one year after that replacement is published. It should be noted that newer published editions of these documents can be used before they become mandatory.
