Safety Codes Council.
The Safety Codes Council coordinates the development of safety codes and standards for Alberta’s safety system. It assists all discipline technical councils (such as the Pressure Equipment sub-council(PESC)) in developing safety codes that promote uniform, province-wide safety standards and practices. The Safety Codes Council also administers the system of certification, accreditation and designation of authority for corporations, agencies and Safety Codes Officers.

Alberta Refinery and Petrochemical Inspection Association (ARPIA)
An owner association of Chief Inspectors and Pressure Equipment Quality Program Administrators focused on continuously improving and optimizing safety, reliability, and integrity of “New” and “In Service” pressure equipment in refinery and petrochemical facilities within Alberta.

International Pressure Equipment Integrity Association (IPEIA)
The mission of the Association is to increase awareness of pressure equipment safety and reliability throughout industry using technological improvements associated with fabrication, maintenance and inspection. The main activity of the association is the planning and coordination of an annual pressure equipment industry conference.

Standardization of Power Engineers Examination Committee (SOPEEC)
The Standardization of Power Engineer Examinations Committee (SOPEEC) is a committee delegated by, and responsible to, the Canadian Association of Chief Inspectors (ACI). SOPEEC was formed in 1972 to promote a uniform examination system and improve mobility of power engineers between member jurisdictions. SOPEEC is a national committee representing all Canadian jurisdictions and the Federal department of Human Resources and Social Development Canada (HRSDC). The committee consists of one representative from each jurisdiction and the HRSDC.
