Board of Directors

 Brad Donaldson 

Dr. Brad Donaldson was appointed to his first 3-year term on ABSA’s Board commencing December 2022. He was named Lethbridge College’s ninth President and CEO in August 2022. He has more than 17 years of experience in the Alberta post-secondary system. Prior to academic leadership, He spent more than 20 years working in engineering and in the global manufacturing sector.

 Aaron Marlatt

Aaron Marlatt was appointed to his first 3 year term on ABSA’s Board commencing in May 2023. He is a professional engineer (civil) with over 25 years of experience in construction management. 

 Pamela McIntyre

Pamela McIntyre was appointed as an ex-officio member of ABSA’s Board effective June 2024, upon the completion of her second 3-year term. She initially joined the Board as an industry representative in July 2018. She was the Senior Vice-President, Safety, Risk Management and Innovation at Canadian Natural Resources Limited in Calgary until she retired in September 2022.

Joy Romero

Joy Romero was appointed to her first 3 year term on ABSA's Board commencing in July 2024. She is a Professional Engineer (Metallurgical) with over 30 years of experience in the energy sector. She is currently Executive Advisor, Innovation at Canadian Natural Resources Limited. She is also President of the Clean Resource Innovation Network (CRIN), the vice-chair of the petroleum Technology Alliance of Canada (PTAC), and a Member Lead for the Pathways Net Zero Technology Development Plan.

Trevor Williams

Trevor Williams was appointed by the Minister to his first term on ABSA’s Board commencing October 2022. He is the Executive Vice President and President, Nitrogen and Phosphate at Nutrien. He has a diverse array of experience leading large scale chemical operations for global companies and the execution of strategic plans to support the growth of the business, its operations and people.

Gary Woods

Gary Woods was appointed to his second 3-year term on ABSA’s Board commencing July, 2022. He is a first class power engineer and currently holds the position of Vice President/Managing Director, Canadian Gas & Renewable Operations with TransAlta in Calgary, Alberta. He has over 17 years of leadership experience in electrical utility operations in Alberta.
