Alberta Chief Power Engineers Education Conference

The Alberta Chief Power Engineers Education Committee has made the difficult decision to cancel the conference for 2020. With the ongoing COVID-19 situation and the impact to businesses of the market volatility the committee felt that this would be in the best interest of all those involved. We truly appreciate your support of our conference. Many of you have been with us since the beginning and we have had five great conferences. This is a small setback for our group but we will come back stronger in 2021. We are planning to host the conference again on October 26 & 27, 2021 and we look forward to having you all back with us for a wonderful day of education, collaboration, and communication with our Chief Power Engineers.

The conference was developed in response to requests from Chief Power Engineers who are currently working within power plants, thermal liquid heating system facilities and heating plants as per the Safety Codes Act (ACT) and the Power Engineers Regulation (PER).

This educational conference is designed to provide you with additional education to help you in your role and responsibilities under the PER, help with understanding the need to be in compliance to the ACT and Regulation(s) along with other matters that relate to your duties.

The conference is organized by a committee of industry personnel along with advisors from ABSA. We work each year to provide you with relevant, up to date information that you can use.

We invite Chief Power Engineers or the Person in Charge of a plant, along with Approved Power Engineering Training Providers to attend and encourage you to register a guest that you feel will benefit from the conference.
