Do you offer discounts?

We understand the ever-changing challenges businesses face today, and to show our support we are offering, for a limited time only, a 30% registration fee reduction on our full selection of seminars when you register two or more employees from the same organization or you yourself register for two or more seminars.

Do you offer in-house courses?

Yes! You don’t have to come to us, we can go to you. Since 2004, ABSA has held in-house courses for industry organizations throughout the globe. This option is both cost-effective and a great forum for your employees to discuss at length with a subject matter expert on how ABSA affects your organization.

Can I request a specific course to be delivered that is not currently offered?

Yes, we can accommodate most requests to develop and deliver in-house courses to suit your needs. We have worked with many organizations to develop seminars to meet specific requirements. Send us an email at training@absa.ca for more information.

How can I find ABSA’s seminar schedule?

Who may attend ABSA Seminars?

ABSA Seminars focus on pressure equipment safety topics. There are no prerequisites to attend ABSA Seminars. Anyone who works in or is interested in pressure equipment such as boilers, pressure vessels and pressure piping are welcome to register and attend.

How many ABSA Seminars may I attend during a year?

ABSA has no restrictions on the number of seminars an individual may attend.

Who are the presenters for ABSA Seminars?

ABSA Seminars and workshops are presented by ABSA technical staff.

How do I register for a seminar?

Registration is subject to class availability.

You can register by, email, in-person or by mail. Payment by credit card, cheque or purchase order is required. Purchase order must accompany the application (AB-136). Complete registration form and fax to (780) 437-7787 or email to training@absa.ca.

If payment is made by cheque, allow 10 business days in order to ensure adequate time for processing. Complete registration form and mail together with payment to:

You will receive confirmation of registration via email within 3 business days. If you do not receive confirmation before your scheduled event, please phone (780) 433-0281 ext. 3323.

How do I cancel my registration for a seminar?

You can cancel by e-mailing training@absa.ca, or you may phone the ABSA office at (780) 433-0281 ext 3323. Please cancel as early as possible. Please refer to our cancellation and substitutions policy on the seminar registration form (AB-136).

Does registering and attending a Pressure Equipment Safety Legislation (PESL) Seminar prepare me for the In-Service Inspector Exam?

The short answer is no. However, it is a great starting point in receiving education on Alberta pressure equipment legislation.

Where are public training courses offered?

Public training courses are held at ABSA offices in Edmonton and Calgary, as well as the IPEIA (International Pressure Equipment Integrity Association) conference in Banff each year. For a full listing of our dates and locations, please consult the Seminar Schedule page.

What should I bring to a public training session?

In most cases, training materials and lunch will be provided.

The public training session I am trying to register for is full. What should I do?

Training registrations are processed on a first-come-first-served basis and our sessions can fill quickly from one day to the next. If the session you are requesting is full, we can add your name to the waiting list by contacting training@absa.ca, and you will be notified once a place becomes available. In the meantime, we suggest selecting a secondary date that we can register you or your participant for.

What are the start and end times for public training sessions?

Most public training seminars typically run from 8 am – 5 pm with a break for lunch and breaks throughout the day.

What are the benefits of attending ABSA Seminars?

What kind of certificate do I get after taking a seminar?

All participants receive a certificate of attendance upon completion of the seminar providing the seminar is attended in its entirety.
