Manufacturer's Data Reports

Manufacturer's Data Reports (MDR) come from outside sources such as manufacturers, suppliers, customers, etc., and are maintained by ABSA.

Requesting a Manufacturer's Data Report

ABSA requires a written request. The client can either e-mail or fax the request on their company letterhead. Send the request to the attention of: Data Reports.

Requesting a Manufacturer's Data Report without an (A) Number

ABSA requires the following information in order to do a search for a vessel/boiler without an (A) number (the Alberta identification number).

• manufacturers name
• serial number
• CRN (Canadian Registration Number)
• year built
• National Board number (if the equipment was manufactured outside of Canada & registered with NB, this number is usually on the nameplate).

Cost for a Manufacturer's Data Report

The cost for a data report is $10.50/page or $136.00/hour, whichever is less for the client. If ABSA cannot locate the data report internally, an external search can be done. The client would be informed in advance of an external search, as there is a cost of $115.00 per external manufacturer search. (Note: If we cannot locate the data report, there is no charge.)

ABSA can provide the data report either by fax or through e-mail with an electronic image of the data report.
