Pressure Equipment Status/Verification
The Pressure
Equipment Safety Regulation (Alberta Regulation, 49/2006) Section 36, requires
that if an owner or vendor:
(a) sells, leases, exchanges, relocates or otherwise disposes of a new or used boiler,
pressure vessel, fired-heater pressure coil or thermal liquid heating system or
(b) brings a new or used boiler, pressure vessel, fired-heater pressure coil or thermal
liquid heating system in Alberta,
the owner or vendor must notify the Administrator in writing. ABSA form AB-10,
Boiler and Pressure Vessel Status Report, can be used to provide the appropriate information
to ABSA. This form is available under ABSA forms.
Accurate records pertaining to the location and ownership of pressure equipment under
registration are very important to pressure equipment safety in the Province. Also,
advising ABSA in a timely manner of any changes in the status of pressure equipment
will help determine who will receive the billing of annual registration fee(s). Billing
occurs on April 1st of each year.
Pressure Equipment Inventory Listing
Owners can contact the Records section of ABSA to verify what equipment is listed
on their account(s) and the accuracy of their records. Inventory listings are sent out
upon request by owners.
