ABSA's Vision
To lead in pressure equipment safety.

ABSA's Mission
ABSA, as a regulatory organization in Alberta, works with our
stakeholders to ensure that pressure equipment is designed, constructed
and operated in a manner that protects public safety.

ABSA's Mandate

ABSA is responsible for the administration and delivery of pressure equipment safety programs in Alberta. Formed under the Government Organization Act of Alberta to operate as a Delegated Administrative Organization (DAO), and as a not-for-profit organization, ABSA was registered under the Societies Act of Alberta on December 20, 1994. Through the Administration Agreement with the Alberta Government, beginning April 1, 1995, ABSA provides pressure equipment safety program services under the direction of a five-member Board of Directors and in partnership with industry, the Alberta Government, the Safety Codes Council and others.

ABSA's Quality Policy

ABSA is the regulatory authority whose ultimate quality objective is to prevent injury to people, arising from the operation of pressure equipment.

This is achieved through the professional competency, high motivation and service orientation of our staff, working with stakeholders to implement pressure equipment safety programs in the most effective and efficient way.

ABSA has established a quality management system to meet the quality objective and ensure continuous improvement.
